
Pamlico County is known mainly for its rural countryside and widespread towns. There are only a few stoplights within the county, and heavy traffic is non-existent. Marinas, boats, and fishing dominate this water- based county, along with farming and cropping. The county is divided into five different townships, numbered 1 to 5. Grantsboro resides in Township 1, Alliance and Stonewall are in Township 2 and Bayboro, Mesic, and Vandemere are in Township 3. Township 4 is rural area and Township 5 consists of Arapahoe, Minnesott Beach, and Oriental. Pamlico County is also known as some of Eastern North Carolina premiere fishing and hunting locations. Birdwatchers and artists are also inspired by the wide array of natural beauty seen throughout the county. Pamlico County also offers ability.
