Pamlico County is known
mainly for its rural countryside
and widespread towns. There
are only a few stoplights within
the county, and heavy traffic is
non-existent. Marinas, boats,
and fishing dominate this water-
based county, along with
farming and cropping.
The county is divided into five
different townships, numbered
1 to 5. Grantsboro resides in
Township 1, Alliance and
Stonewall are in Township 2
and Bayboro, Mesic, and
Vandemere are in Township 3.
Township 4 is rural area and
Township 5 consists of
Arapahoe, Minnesott Beach,
and Oriental. Pamlico County is
also known as some of Eastern
North Carolina premiere
fishing and hunting locations.
Birdwatchers and artists are
also inspired by the wide array
of natural beauty seen
throughout the county.
Pamlico County also offers
ability. For the senior citizens
who are looking for a place to
retire and desire the relaxation
and entertainment of senior
citizen groups, any town in
Pamlico County can suit.

Three Centuries of North Carolina Heritage

Mesic  is just 26 miles from historic
New Bern, the second oldest town in North Carolina, it's situated
where the Trent and Neuse Rivers meet. New Bern is abound with
history around every corner with over 150 historic landmarks, the
magnificent Tryon Palace, Birth Place of Pepsi and a 157,000-acre
national forest.
It is a pleasure for me to extend personally, as well as on behalf of
the Mesic Board of Councilmen and the citizens of our Town, a
most cordial welcome to the Mesic website. We are pleased and
honored that you have chosen to visit our Town. We hope you will
find the time to come and explore Mesic,
North Carolina, founded in 1710. This predominantly African
American community was started in the early 1860's, became an
incorporated Town in 1971.
